Chide

Terms

Last updated 6 September 2026. This is also the licence for the app.

Draft pending legal review. Accurate to how Chide works today; a solicitor reviews it before anyone outside the team uses the app.

The one rule that has no warnings

There is zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users on Chide. Content that is illegal, sexual, hateful, violent, or that harasses or endangers anyone — especially a child — will be removed, and the account behind it will be suspended or deleted.

By using Chide you agree to that. We report illegal content to the authorities.

Who can use it

You must be 16 or over, in the UK. If you are 16 or 17 your account starts private and you cannot attach a public location to a post; you can make your account public in settings if you choose.

Don't

Reporting, and what happens after

You can report anything from anywhere in the app, and block anyone — blocking works both ways, immediately. A person reviews every report within 24 hours. If we act on your content or your account, we tell you why, and you can appeal to someone who was not involved in the original decision. If we got it wrong, we put it back and say so.

Your content

It's yours. We get only the permission we need to store it and show it to the people you chose. That ends when you delete it, except where the law requires us to keep something that has been reported.

Leaving

Delete your account any time, in the app, under Settings. We can suspend or delete accounts that break these terms — and for the zero-tolerance rule, we will.

The legal bit

Chide is provided as-is. Nothing here limits liability the law says cannot be limited. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
